Louisiana Senior Olympics
Our volunteers work with the contestants at the Senior Olympics in the fall and the Baton Rouge Wheelchair Tennis Tournament in the spring. JLBR volunteers act as official scorekeepers, ball persons, personal assistants for the athletes, and food servers.
The JLBR is a proud sponsor of the Louisiana Senior Olympic Games (LSOG), a non-profit organization that promotes wellness and improved quality of life for people over 50 through sports and physical training. The State Games are held in Baton Rouge each year in the fall. Competition is held in: Archery, Badminton, Bait Casting, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Dance, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Racquetball, Road Race, Shuffleboard, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Walk-a-thon, Weight Lifting and many more. Baton Rouge Wheelchair Tennis Association
Baton Rouge Wheelchair Tennis Association (BRWTA) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to furthering the sport of wheelchair tennis in the Baton Rouge community. The annual BRWTA's Cajun Classic tournament attracts athletes from across the US, as well as internationally, and caters to all levels of athletes. JLBR committee members assist athletes with special needs, volunteer as ball girls and also help serve meals courtside to the players.
