Louisiana Senior Olympics

The JLBR is a proud sponsor of the Louisiana Senior Olympic Games (LSOG), a non-profit organization that promotes wellness and improved quality of life for people over 50 through sports and physical training. The State Games are held in Baton Rouge each year in the fall. Competition is held in: Archery, Badminton, Bait Casting, Basketball, Billiards, Bowling, Cycling, Dance, Golf, Horseshoes, Racquetball, Road Race, Shuffleboard, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Walk-a-thon, Weight Lifting and many more.

This October 12th-14th, over 1100 participants will compete in 80 different events!  JLBR volunteers act as official scorekeepers, ball persons, personal assistants for the athletes, and food servers.  Please contact the LSOG if you would like more information about becoming a sponsor of the State Games.

Baton Rouge Wheelchair Tennis Association

BRWTA is a non-profit, all volunteer organization dedicated to furthering the sport of wheelchair tennis in the Baton Rouge community.  The annual BRWTA's Cajun Classic tournament attracts athletes from across the US, as well as internationally, and caters to all levels of athletes.  JLBR committee members volunteer as ball girls and assist athletes wherever needed. They also help serve meals courtside to the athletes. The next event is scheduled for April 24-27, 2008 at the Paula G. Manship YMCA, 8100 YMCA Plaza Blvd., Baton Rouge.  Please contact the Baton Rouge Wheelchair Association if you would like more information about becoming one of their sponsors.
