“Building an Inclusive Community”: Diversity Summit

Junior League of Baton Rouge, along with our community partners, BREC, YWCA and Forum 35 will host a diversity summit on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the BREC Ballroom from 6pm to 8:30pm (6201 Florida Blvd.).

The theme of the summit is “Building an Inclusive Community” and our goal is to bring the Baton Rouge community together to promote positive and progressive conversations on the issues that divide us. We hope to enlighten citizens to the fact that we are more alike than different and all it takes is an open mind to bring about unity and change.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Moderated by Erin Monroe Wesley, Esq. (Special Counsel, Office of the Governor), the event features a keynote by Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, Operating Partner, Bernhard Capital Parnters and guest panelists:

JLBR Diversity & Cultural Inclusion Committee
The Junior League Baton Rouge Diversity & Cultural Inclusion (DCI) Committee is dedicated to creating a more inclusive organization in all realms of servant leadership grounded in embracing individual differences. Cultural competence is of highest priority. The DCI Committee endorses a broad definition of diversity and seeks to provide high quality training opportunities and resources that enhance awareness, knowledge, and skills building. The DCI committee strives to provide leadership for the JLBR as well as other Junior Leagues in the region that cultivates open dialogue, cooperation, shared responsibility, and mutual respect of all we serve.
