Emerge Center's New HomeMore than 50 years ago, a group of JLBR members identified an unmet need in our community, and their determination to address that need led to the launch of the Baton Rouge Speech and Hearing Foundation. In 2014, the League’s capital campaign donation helped build the Emerge Center, representing the League’s continued commitment to the organization. Congratulations, Emerge, on this exciting new chapter! Representing the League at a recent plaque presentation are (l to r): Caroline Graham, Kathy Victorian, Leslie Berg (2014-15 President), Winnie Byrd, Mary Jane Howell (Past President),and Cathy Giering (2013-14 President). They are pictured with Melissa Juneau, Executive Director of the Emerge Center.
Baton Rouge Business Report's Influential Women in BusinessA delegation of more than 30 Junior League representatives attended the Baton Rouge Business Report's Influential Women in Business luncheon on June 3rd. The JLBR was proud to serve as a sponsor of such a prestigious event and attendees honored our own Kimberly Robinson on being recognized as an Influential Woman in Business. Many thanks to Hollydays and River Road Recipes for setting up a perfect JLBR booth in the lobby of the event. The Board also gives special thanks to Sustaining Members Boo Thomas, Rose Hudson, and Mary Joseph for appearing in a powerful promotional video for the League. Please click here to enjoy the video.
